Don't know if this helps but for me, after experiencing vertigo for most of the year, it has been determined that a LOT of fluid was found in my inner ear. I, too, suffer from the popping, nausea, dizziness and have found it hard to walk and drive as well.  Benadryl and Claritin has started to dry it up, which has helped tremendously with my balance issues.  Might fluid in the ear be a possible partial source of your issues?
