I think when you fly you are supposed to try keep to liquids as it can make some bands go tighter - try take a bovril cube with you to make a soup or see if you can have a soup onboard?  remember to drink plenty of water too x

Have you not spoken to your consultant. If not then get in touch right away for advice. He might even advise you against the holiday. What bed, breakfast and evening meal means is that you will not have any real control of your food. What will happen if you have a health problem? Did you buy health insurance? The best advice I can give is that it is not wise to ask complete strangers for health advice. It takes at least seven years to train as a medical doctor and about two minutes for me to give you bad advice on your holiday diet. Talk to your consultant, please.

hi Glynis. I am only 4 days post op and I go on holiday in 9 days. I discussed this with my surgeon and he said it was perfectly safe to do this. Obviously its not ideal timing and I will be on the sloppy foods stage but I will just have to make the right choices and just get on with it.

Ah Debbie thanks for replying, Im sure you will be fine are you going abroad? I go 7 weeks post op but am going abroad, at least I will be on "normal" foods by then. How are you feeling? Did you get the wind pain? I've read a lot about it on here so am expecting it lol xx

Hello. I'm going to the canaries so yes abroad. I'm going to wear my surgical stockings for the flight just to be on the safe side. Whilst I'm there I'm going to be on the sloppy foods so will just have to deal with it....no choice really. I've been really well since the op....no pain...no wind....no nothing. I'm going back to work tomorrow....5 days post op. X
