I've been dealing with throat pain. It feels as though i have something stuck in my throat and it hurts to swallow. Should i worry or just write it off?

    Just thinking about what maybe be the causative agent in these swallowing difficulties. I wonder if the damaging agent could be a chronic strep infection that damages the motility nerves in the throat and esophagus. Some of the responses has caused me to start think out side the box sort of speak. I know there are some who connect gum/ dental disease with chronic strep. Any opinions or thoughts

    The diagnosis might well depend on whether your throat is swollen or not, and the only way to do that is for a doctor to take a look.   The doctor might well feel whether your glands are swollen.

    ​Until you see the doctor, try having something soothing from the pharmacist to see whether that makes a difference.   You might also try something like Gaviscon in case the cause of reflux.
