    Hi Georgia,

    Editing Posts

I agree with "Editing" our own posts, whether it is a 'timed' delay or a 'permanent' ome. At least we would not end up making adding posts because we made one with errors in, or missed something off which we need to put right. Many times I have posted a message with parts missed off, so I have to write another one underneath before someone else comes along and posts in between.

    Deleting Posts/Comments

As for deleting comments this could be misleading. Deleting comments from your own thread (subject) after someone else posts a message would make the message look wrong and out of context.

Also, if this means being able to delete posts from other users, well this really should be left to the moderator, not an individual since this could cause trouble between users if they start deleting another persons posts.

    The CKEditor

Well, that's how I see it. The use of the CKEditor has these options built-in anyway, this website has just customized it for their own use. If you Google CKEditor you will see what the standard editor looks like, to me it always looks better but the reason for that is because most forum scripts now use the same editor for posting.

I personally would like new Fonts, be able to colour our fonts, etc. Well, I can dream! lol

    Regards,

    Les.

I meant deleting our own comments just after we've posted them Les if we realise it wastn't the right thing to say because we were too tired or feeling grumpy or something?

You're right, Georgia,  I am not renowned for the length of my fuse!!

Ah, now I understand, I misinterpreted what you meant by the word "Delete" - in web technology it is a very much used word, not only in standard text but coding as well. I have attached a screenshot of the Basic CKEditor, so you can see the actual differences between what we have on here to what the coders of patient.info have given us. (Click the little image to see the full-size version!).

Yes, editing would be a great start - I certainly would use it, after reading back a post I just made, one thing I kept doing initially was I had my cursor speed to high, this causes whatever letter your finger is on to multiply gawd knows how many times! lol

I will certainly Vote it now. There was a long delay after my last post till now because our grocery shopping arrived, not even that was right this week.

Every week we do our shopping at Tesco's, usually around £120.00+ and the delivery guy said to my wife you ordered a lot this week, she nor I thought nothing of it. And, signed for it and then my wife started ticking items off against the receipt. We were finding a lot of discrepancies in our order. Eventually, after taking our items away from what was delivered we had about £30-£40 worth of extras from the Fridge section, it was obviously delivered in error and was someone elses shopping not ours! I phoned Tesco's Customer Helpdesk and told them what there was, we had ham, bacon, beef, mince meat, gammon, yogurts, etc it actually amounted to 16 additional items! Anyway, because the delivery guy had only just left the man from Tesco's Support Helpdesk said, please hold I will try and contact the delivery person. Anyway, he come back on and said we cannot contact the delivery guy for your area, and since it's not really our policy to take items back especially Fridge items, I have been told you can keep it all. I said "Okay, thanks - now we will have to find more space in our fridge, there was an additional 8 pints of milk!" - Now, I understand what Tesco's jargon means by "Tesco - Every Little Helps!" lol hehe...

      Regards,

      Les.

Having  grumpy moments or even days is normal for all of us. We are here cause we have some very difficult ailmentor are stressed because we are caring for a loved one with some very difficult ailment. So sometimes we would wish to adjust the tone or correct an error.

Yes when I've posted a comment and someone replies and I have to read my comment again to know what they're referring to I see mistakes i didn't know I'd made in the first place!

I don't want the world viewing me as an error! *tongue*

That was also an error because in a poetry website there's a poking your tongue out emoticon. Yes I even forget which website I'm in sometimes.

Yes that's what I meant Les. I've said some stupid things and it's too late to take them back. Including joking around not meaning to offend anyone then afterwards I've thought "oh no, I hope so and so doesn't take that wrong!'

Thank you for reminding us, Georgia.

It's an important issue isn't it mrsmop because a lot of us find it difficult enough to type a comment in the first place.

Oh how I agree ,surely we as sensible and mature adults, should be given the right to edit /delete  our postings ,if after we have read them through ,we find something not quite right ,or else we have a spelling mistake, or even perhaps have put the wrong wording in ,which as has been said ,we are all capable of doing ,this then sometimes takes our posting quite out of conmtext, but we are unable to go back and correct it ,before re posting .So come Admin PLESAE DO PLEASE give us this right .

      xx

We're expected to edit perfectly, we can't always do that. Especially people who are tired, don't have good eyesight or whose hands don't work too well.
