effective treatment for fibromyalgia rejected by fda because it could be abused!

My friends wife has fm. 3-4 years ago i saw an article, which at the time claimed there was no other effective treatment, yet for political reasons it was rejected. I say political because the main ingredient  is sold OTC and  you could buy it and get better(80% cure rate) without even seeing a DR.

Should be easy to find the trial, and you can decide for yourself, do you want to get better, and do you have good self control. Much to my shock and disappointment Mary decided to stay sick and collect the disability monthly check! Or maybe she is faking it?

You should already have this info, and i didn't read any posts here, so i am sorry for double posting, i just want people to get better.

What is the product? If there really is something out there that has an 80% success rate I want to know about it! Or is it that you once read something in the Sun (known for it's hi level medical understanding and non inflammatory reporting) that was 'hyped' and you took it as gospel? If you find the article/trial, please post it online.

google "fibromyalgia clinical trial" or something like that. should be numerous articles but skip them and look for a medical journal that gives dose and details. or go straight to the trial itself and get the facts.

Who knows, there may be several trials, do your research, get better!

I had chronic fatigue for 30+ years and this is my 10th day out of fatigue prison! Feels great! Research works!

Can you say what drug you are on? I read a post earlier and did some research and it looked like the drug was Xyrem, sodium oxybate, but it wasn't approved for fibromylgia just narcolepsey because the drug is like or similar to GHB and the FDA was concerned with the availability of a date rape drug. I took it upon myself to e-mail Jazz Pharmaceutics to find out what is up and its current status. People are suffering  and their lives are compromised. It sounds insane, but that would be the very political FDA.

      never heard of Xyrem.

i'm on a thyroid med as my pulse was too slow for 30+ years. Blood pressure probably too low also. I've learned that In Germany they treat low BP with meds, but in the US they think low BP is good. Thanks for asking, but probably nothing to do with fibro...

You should be reading the fibro trial by now......... I'm curious what the dose is, and how long recovery takes. keep everyone posted. I've been spending my time searching for a NEW DR. near me that doesn't act like a hearing aid salesman! LOL I found a 5* DR about 73, old enough to not need money, site lists thyroid, which is not common, and sports medicine. Only need him if something goes wrong. But i want to be ready, old Dr. wanted me on statins which has FATIGUE as a side effect. He is fired!

      Hi Donna

It is not a drug. Despite being widely available your GP is not likely to recommend it, for the same reason i'm not posting it. While it is safe and effective when used as directed, it is easily abused. The internet is 20+ years old; there is no excuse for not being able to use it. You might spend a few days or weeks reading studies before you make a decision.

I will give you an exciting alternative that i was missing for 20+ years. I was not expecting any immediate results, so clearly something was missing from my diet. Dr. Natasha Campbell(utube video) said everyone should eat this once a week. It is loaded with nutrition, and is cheap, and easy to cook, usually with onions. On Sat i drove to the gas station, went to the store. But i forgot the eggs, as i now eat 2 a day as per Dr. Campbell. I felt good, so i rode my EBike back to the store and got 3 doz at $1/doz. I had a visitor for an hour, when he left charleen came over. So it was a busy day for somebody that had CFS just 3 weeks ago(for 30 yrs). So i ate this food for dinner expecting to watch tv, as i'd be tired. WRONG! i felt so good, i went for a bike ride! So what was the food missing from my diet? Beef liver!

Have you girls been eating it? Google "beef liver nutrition" and see what is in it! Oh, i forgot you all don't know how to google.
