Effectiveness of sertraline with grief.......

Posted , 4 users are following.

I’ve been taking 100mg of sertraline for 10 weeks now, I think it’s taken the edge off things but heartbreakingly my dad past away last night after a long illness. I feel the pain n anguish which is good for grief I just don’t want to end up going backwards with my anxiety.

Any helpful comments would be much appritiated about your experiences xx

I’m so sorry for your loss.

I don’t think you’ll go back to the bad anxiety. You may have some bad feelings but it’s good to be able to grieve.  You don’t want to be numb.

I’m impressed that you’ve been taking 100mg with no side effects. I’m barely just started 75mg and it’s challenging.

If you do start feeling that your anxiety is returning let us know. We’re hear for you.

I have had awful side effects in the beginning, intense anxiety was the worst one.

I was not fully myself before my dad past, I just wanted to be reassured really or gain some experience from others about coping with both anxiety and grief.

I’m hoping that I’ll be able to do it, without having to increase the meds x

So sorry to hear this Claire, I wanted to show my support after all the help you've given me over the last month.

This will probably set you back in your illness but that's okay. You got through it before and you will again.

Do not expect too much of yourself, be patient and try to take plenty of rest as I'm sure you will feel quite fatigued.

    Sending condolences and virtual hugs.

I’m trying not to focus too much on all this and just go hour by hour really.

Thank you for your support xx

Claire my mum passed away just a month into my journey with steraline.

Every morning I ask her for help with my day and she still is there for me.

    Be good to yourself.
