Im about to start Effexar can anyone tell me about the side effects ie weight gain

    The way I look at it is calorie in calorie out, watch what you eat and workout, you’ll be fine!! Anyway it works for me!

    Dear Gill,

    Effexor is venlafaxine, and Lustral is sertraline ( trade name and generic name )......the side effects of both of these meds are slightly different as Effexor is a SNRI ( reuptake of noradrenaline affected as well as serotonin ) whereas Sertraline is an SSRI ( only affects serotonin reuptake ).....main side effects people notice are dizziness and GI side effects.....these tend to settle after this first couple of weeks though. Good luck

    I had a terrible experience on it. It made me depressed. Crying. It was awe full that said everyone is different. I had a DNA test done and sure enough Effexor was on the DO Not Use list. Good luck
