Effexor and increased seratonin

Posted , 3 users are following.

Hi All,

I have heard of a product called Fibro-Care. On inquiry with my local health food shop, I was advised that it seratonin and as I am on Effexor (just increased my dose from 75mg by another 37.5mg for increased fatigue and depression symptoms), I may be at risk of seratonin syndrome.

Is there anyone out there who has tried this?

Hi:  Oopsy day:  I urge you not to take anything for seratonin uplifters if you are already a prescription for the same thing.  That may cause a huge panic attack.  Please check with your doctor first...hope this helps..

Thank you Carole. You are wise. Yup I thought it wouldn't be the brightest thing to do...but thought I'd ask

I never heard of it but will look it up. I don't think its a good idea to mix medications with natural remedies. In fact I'm against taking pharmaceuticals because of all the side affects but I use homeopathic and essential oils with pretty good results. Still have some really bad days but I just started treatment (one visit) at a natural clinic. The doctor there has the same problems and after ten years of research has set up treatments that work.

    Hope you find relief.

Thank you for replying Creola. Sounds like you are getting great care. What country are you in?

I'm in the US. The fibro clinic is in Reno, Nv., people go there from all over the world so they try to keep it affordable. I've yet to see what it will cost so I hope it's true.
