Effexor er 150mg, I want off this medication

Posted , 3 users are following.

I've been on numerous antidepressants in the past and I'm currently taking effexor xr 150mg, I've been taking the current dose for about 3 months. I feel terrible all the time, tired and literally just drained. I feel like the medication is causing this because my symptoms have continously gotten worse and effexor is the only change I've had.

Please help, I need sound advice on how to stop this medicine and not replace it with any antidepressant until I'm completely free of them being in my system as I'm not really sure that I need them because none of them have helped me at all

Over the years I have been also on several anti-depressants and venlafaxine has been the last one and without doubt the worst. I will never ever take any pill anymore but if depression appears again deal with it in a different way.

Since you have been only for three month on it I assume the best is to get off it.

I read here and in FB though that getting off this medication is a very difficult process, for many people like going through hell - the earlier you start the better! Maybe someone else can give you more advise in regards to how to do it and then make up your mind how you want to proceed.

Don't allow to go into fear, rather think of it as a positive process and complement it with healthy food choices, nutricional supplements, yoga, meditation, relaxation - whatever feels good to you.

Kelly Brogan MD I consider a very intelligent psychiatrist who's website offers plenty of advise and an alternative to pharmaceutical treatment of depression.

I am sure other people here will respond as well and support you.

Stay connected and all the best!
