EHL tendon surgery recovery

Hi

I had surgery to rejoin my EHL tendon. This is the tendon on the top of your foot to move your big toe.

These surgeries can sometime be unsuccessful, where the tendon comes unattached after surgery.

Since the surgery 2 weeks ago, I've had a couple of sharp pains when I've accidently moved or stretched my foot.

I am worried the tendon may have come unattached.

I have seen the surgeon since my surgery and he says there's no way to tell whether the tendon is still attached.

When I feel the tendon however, it feels like it is in two pieces.

My surgeon says I have to wait four weeks untill my boot is off before they know whether it is still attached.

Has anyone had a similar experience or knows whether there's any way to test whether the tendon is still attached. I don't want to wait four weeks to find out I need to have the surgery again.

Thanks
