i had a full elbow replacement in 2015 after a bad accident,. now 8 years later im getting really sharp pains that come and go in my upper arm. could this be the upper implant coming loose from the cement in the bone? it doesn't happen 24/7 but when it does its very painful

it could be many things causing the pain. when joint implants cause pain a xray or MRI could be the answer? joint replacements with cement can be a issues. many joint replacements today do not use cement due to that reason of loosening, infections, separation's etc. Sadly you may require a revision.

a study from pud med . A total of 54 TEA cases were included. Forty percent of ulnar and 24% of humeral mantles were classified as short (between 1 and 19 mm). According to the Morrey classification, 6 (11%) cases had an inadequate cement mantle Twenty-four (45%) cases had radiographic evidence of loosening at 1 year.
