Yes it appears to be the nerves healing. There is another long discussion on here about this somewhere, a few days ago. I am early eleven weeks and it has stopped , for me anyway. However I am not relaxing too much as from things I have read on here , all sorts of things stop and then start again. At seven weeks though you must be seeing the light at the end of the tunnel!

Thanks joy sometimes you think it's just you asked my therapist during rehab she never heard of it lol. Well I still don't see the light at the end of the tunnel I don't know how I thought I would feel but this definitely isn't it. I knew I was suppose to be pain free from old symtoms but now I have so many more complex symtoms that it's crazy at times. I've decided not to do my right knee lol

It's funny how these experts haven't a clue about our feelings! I am 20 weeks and still feel that this is an alien in my leg.  I still limp. It's horrible first thing in the morning with the tightness. Don't know when I will be pleased that I had it done!

Hey Susan do you have your own knee cap or did they give you a artificial one. If it's your own I was taught with the leg straight move the knee cap from side to side much down from the top push up from the bottom this helps. When you first do it feels funny lol but the more you do it you get use to it. I also hate the alien in my knee but they say as time goes on we won't feel it as much😑 also message the knee but the dam thing seems to wake up when it's ready no matter what we have to do lol

Do you know I have never thought about that one.   Don't know whether it's my own kneecap or not.  It looks pretty different so I guess not!

yes I get this and my physio said it is the nerve endings mending and not to worry it will just disappear, it is a strange feeling and I was getting concerned but he assured me it is nothing to worry about hope this helps

Thanks Maggie I guess it's a good thing because if we didn't feel this we would have other problems lol

I still do and I'm nine months post op. Sometimes it feels like an electric current, other times it feels like a bad stinging sensation. I also get a crawling feeling on my skin like a fly is on my knee, I'm forever brushing it off....strange things happen.

Also with my shocking restless leg and cramps as a direct result of the surgery, my surgeon said to discuss it with my GP, like no one has ever had this after TKR before.
