For the past two days I keep getting an electric shock-type feeling in my left armpit. It comes and goes and is only there for a short amount of time. What do you think it could be and is it more probably serious. I have never had it before.

Sounds like a pinched and inflamed nerve in that area. It may only last a few days/week but if it continues/gets worse see your doctor. In the mean time try to rest the area, and take anti inflammatory medication like ibuprofen.
