Electric shock pains groin to foot

Posted , 7 users are following.

My daughter's partner, at only 53, had a hip replacement just 2 weeks ago (I had mine 10 weeks ago and all going well). However, at 2 months ahead of him they are asking me for help with a query that I'm not sure about and wondered if anyone here has experienced this : he keeps getting occasional shooting pains, excruciating, like an electric shock from his groin down to his foot. I'm unsure as to whether to be concerned or reassuring .... any thoughts? Thanks.

    Hello

it is nerve pain. Does it happen often? I experienced a similar sensation a few times in the first week or so after my second op. It was a certain movement that caused it and it was excruciating, i sympathise with him. i think it is a nerve that gets pinched. it ought to go away but there isnt much you can do to stop it. Maybe see the doc if it doesnt improve

I had similar so much so that I could nit walk across my bedroom and that was two years after. full and excellent recovery from a hip revision. My chiropractor sorted out in one short visit to her. Cheers, Richard

Hi Marianne, I myself have these electrical shocks down both of the back of my legs, usually when I cough it hurts like hell, i mentioned it to my consultant and pain management who told me it's back related in which i do also suffer with chronic back pain.

hope this is of some help
