Electrophysiological study - should I be scared?

Posted , 2 users are following.

I'm due to have an electrophysiological study in two weeks. I've been on a waiting list for 1.5 years to have this procedure because of heart palpitations. Around 2019 I started waking up in the night with a racing heart (sometimes upwards of 180 bpm) and they also happen randomly when I'm at rest or after I've eaten.

I've had a Reveal monitor since September 2020 which hasn't shown any significant arrhythmias (so far it looks like episodes of inappropriate sinus tachycardia, some ectopics and an episode of PSVT which apparently they weren't concerned about), so they are doing this study to try and find the source.

Has anyone else undergone this procedure and have any first-hand advice? I'm extremely afraid, but know that I need to have this done to finally get to the bottom of what's wrong with me.

Thank you!
