Elevated ALP but all other blood work is normal! I’m worried :(

I have had elevated ALP for over a year and am extremely worried. All of my other blood work has come back in normal ranges including all my other liver enzymes. I have been on birth control for about 15 years and have been taking an antidepressant for about 9 years. I am petrified right now, any help would be appreciated.

Try eating better and if not already add some exercise to your day. Walking for 30 mins a day is a good start. See if your labs normalize after about a month is doing this.

If you had CT scan done today, your Dr likely doesn't yet have the results... it takes a couple of days as it has to be read by a radiologist. Once it's read they write up a report and send it to your Dr.
It's frustrating waiting for test results. Do you have a follow up appt with your Dr? Normally, when they order testing they give you a follow up appt to come in and go over the results... If your like me, that's not good enough lol... You can always call them in a few days providing you don't hear from them first and see if your results are in yet.
Make sure to get a copy of all the tests you have done and keep them in a folder in the event you get refered to a specialist or need them later for reference...
Do come back and update us... Good luck

Im in the same position as you and im getting worried as well a CT scan showed fatty liver but not disease so I was tested for Hepatitis and PCB which are autoimmune related as I have sjogrens I was tested last Monday and haven't heard anything yet so hoping they are all good. I am taking HRT and after doing some research discovered that Oestrogen can cause elevated liver ensigns and fatty liver so im weaning off to see if that helps. Its all very worrying as I don't drink and im well within the correct BM! range. Im due to see a gastro consultant in December and im hoping im told not to worry about it. Good luck I will follow your post with interest x

Fatty liver isn't just an over weight person's problem. Now a days it's an epidemic and one can acquire it for many different reasons, meds, drugs, alcohol, eating poorly or even not eating enough.. There are conditions that make people more prone to fatty liver and it can also be genetic..
Its good that you already have an appt with a specialist.. It's been my experience liver knowledge is lacking among primary care physicians.. I actually didn't have much luck with the first 2 gastro' s I saw but the 3rd one was pretty good. I now see a heptaologist and feel more comfortable.
I found out I have fatty liver in July. I presented to my dermatologist with all these weird skin problems that suddenly appeared and started to worry me.. he told me to get my liver checked because I was showing signs of advanced liver disease. I have been told I'm showing signs of cirrhosis but all the testing I have had thus far have been good except showing enlarged and fatty liver. I go for fibroscan on October 9th.
I hope you get answers. I know how frustrating all this is.

So far I have had a ct scan of abdomen w/o contrast, 2 abdominal ultrasounds, MRI with and w/o contrast of abdomen and an endocospy. I did the hepascore/Fibrosure blood test that gave me an F0 score. The fibroscan will be my last test.. I had all the autoimmune testing that's liver specific, tumor markers and hep A, B and C which were all negative.
I am like you in that I don't have much knowledge on my family history. I never met my biological father and all I know for sure is both him and his father died suddenly at age 50 and 51.
Maybe you would be interested in a health report?? What I did was pay $100 to get a DNA kit from ancestory. When it comes you fill a tube with spit and send it back. They run your DNA and match you to other people who have submitted their DNA but it wasn't for that reason that I had it done. Once they are done processing your kit, you will be able to download your raw DNA and upload it to Promethus. They run your Genome and give you a health report. It's thousands of pages long. It shows you all your SNPS. You can see on this report your genetic mutations etc and see if you carry genes for certain ailments. For example... It will say you carry this XXXXX gene or genetic mutation and this gene is associated with XXXXX. It gives you a lot of information on your genetic make up and it's only $5 bucks and it's all about you and your genetic makeup.... Anything concerning you can bring to the attention of your Dr. Just a thought...
