Oh and the only time it went down was last year when I was pregnant, not drinking, not overweight and generally healthy. Dr thinks it might be autoimmune

Good morning Candice , well it's obvious that something is stressing your liver a bit, all of our livers shed these enzymes every day so it is normsl to have slight elevations in these numbers but your numbers are a little on the high side, some of these enzymes are also released from other organs so your doctor should be looking into it, auto inune, hep a,b,c and other blood test where done for other disease ,yes? Try light foods for now , lots of vedgies , juicing better if possible and add serrapeptase , this will help inflammation , try it and see if your numbers go down , hope your results come back normal.

Thank you for your reply. Yes the Dr has done full blood work come back normal for hep a, b, c and also tested for Wilsons which is normal to and done ultrasound, mri and everything besides those elevated liver enzymes are coming back normal. Hoping the liver biopsy might give some answers but freaking out about that

If you are not experiencing any symptoms and enzymes are coming down,I wouldn't worry too much , sometimes we freak out and think the worst.just need to let doctors do their jobs , they are doing a biopsy as a precaution to make sure everything is ok. You drink alcohol?

I don't have symptoms but the levels aren't coming down. No I don't drink alcohol, it seems to have the specialist confused on what it could be his just guessing at this point but I'm thinking that cause the mri and all the other bloods were normal hopefully it's nothing to bad it's just worrying having this for 5 years and not having a answer

They are just making sure there is no damage or anything else going on inside the liver, I'm wondering why it took this long for them to do biopsy? Have your blood tests been up and down closer to normal and then back up? Or just 200 or close for five years?, the good news is that you have no symptoms, wich means whatever you have "if" any may be somewhat reversible or manageable! Do a diet Change , juiceing veggies, lean meats like chicken in small portions, nuts , lentiles, and try "serrapetase my levels ast 46 alt 65 alp 86, no ast17 alt19 and alp63 after a month, do you know what your albumin is? Platelets? Total protein?there are a couple of things that I take,

I have been wondering the same thing, the specialist just said we will just watch to see if they go higher they pretty much stayed around the the same but it's just gone higher and they have been persistent and he probably wasn't worried cause the scans showed nothing. Ok ill start juicing but pretty much have a healthy diet. No I'm not sure what levels they areare, next check up I'm going to ask them to print it out what they are cause I didn't see all I know is they are at a moderate level and always been persistent

I didn't feel well for the first few months of this year.  I finally went to the doctor in June and my ALT was over 1000 and my AST was over 500.  My doctor immediately took me off my Lipitor and other supplements I was taking.  I quit drinking 5 years ago, had my gall bladder out 13 years ago, and I work out 5 days a week.  I am about 10 lbs overweight.  After 5 days off the medication, my numbers had dropped in half and I felt like a new person.  FULL of energy again and my appetite came back.  He has run multiple blood tests for other liver diseases and everything has come back normal.  After a month, my ALT was down to 98.  We're watiing 3 months to check them again.  I'm really not sure what caused all this.  In all the years of drinking, I never had one bad liver function test.  I'm concerned the tests in October will not be normal and I will require a biopsy.  But I feel so good again!  Is it possible this will all reverse itself?  Maybe I got a bad bottle of supplements and that caused this.  I'm terribly afraid to go back on the Lipitor but my cholesterol has shot up from 151 on the meds to 272 without them.

Hi, I just wanted to tailgate and ask questions on this. What did your doctor say? I have the same advice from my doctor today. since my cholesterol has gone down already he told me to stop taking lipitor as this increases liver enzymes. will be back 2 weeks after for another SGPT bloodwork but too afriad to see the result.

did your doctor explained that lipitors increase liver enymes as well?

how soon did you get another bloodwork after dropping your meds?
