since having a hysterectomy in 2019. I have been on Elleste Solo 1mg.
I had everything taken out due to having massive fibroids.
I was put on these tablets and have gained 2 stone in weight. my stomach feels bloated uncomfortable and stretched.
none of my clothes fit and I'm feeling rubbish.
any boy else had issues like this, if so what did you do?
thank you xx

i have just been the hospital and seen a menopuase speclist and i explained i no longer wanted HRT.
he has put me on a drug called gabapentin.
been on it 2 weeks sleeping better and hot sweats seem to have calmed down at night and day also.
so fingers crossed these should work.
hope this helps a bit but difficult thing is what suits one does not suit another you have to try and find what works for you.

Just in case you have not read the side effects of gabapentin, please do so as you might encounter them and not know the cause.

hi,
thank you so much for replying.
what about osteoporosis tho, I am worried that if I come off HRT my body will suffer with that.
it's all so confusing.
I used to take Gabapentin but that was for my Fibromyalgia.
it wasnt good. I struggled with anger.
I'm going to go and see my GP today to discuss options.

yes I am wary about Gabapentin as have struggled with anger outbursts.
I am going to make a GP appointment today and see what she says.

kazza - I have been on oestradiol (pellets, patches, gel) for 31 years now (after a full hysterectomy/oopherectomy at age 38) with none of the mythical problems assigned to it. My only problems have been with my gp interfering with it by insisting I use progesterone too. When I realised it was the progesterone messing up the balance, I said "no more". It was hard to get things back on track after that, and I feel I lost some of the benefits that oestragen provides after that.
She would object to prescribing scripts for new pellets (for implants) on time leaving me struggling with insufficient oestrogen. It is best that when you are on a good thing, stick to it. My endocrinologist wrote a letter to her saying treat the symptoms and not the blood results, and that a lot of oestrogen is good for females.
