6 mos post op still doing heel slides but when I do them in the beginning I feel resistance and burning muscle pain inner knee going to inner thigh just above knee. It’s frustrating so basically just complaining sorry. I believe I am making progress just never dreamed it would take me this long. Everyday feel like it’s a new start like being a hamster on a wheel lol

It’s soooo important to do your exercise and keep on with them the muscles need to strengthen and stretch in order to support the new joint properly I’m 9 months out had an excellent recovery in fact probably too good and I got a bit slack with the exercise routine am now having massage to stretch those muscles that I really should have done myself  Keep going Robin it really is worth it just remember you got a whole piece new kit in that leg and it does take time

    Hi Robin

I am now 10 weeks post op

Are heel slides the only exercise you are doing ??I find the excercises so boring I know they have to be done.

My flex ion and straight leg lifts are at maximum now.

But I’m really struggling with stairs , I think this is because I’m in a bungalow so obviously not using .

    Regards

      Hi Julie!

No I do heel slides and lots of walking and trying to go to gym. Kinda slacked off there but heading back today. Its a lifestyle change to keep going everyday but I am definitely moving a lot and trying but knee is not a non thing yet. By that mean I am keenly still aware of surgery having been done and lo going for the day I no longer think about my knee cause it just seems normal. LOL one day it will come and I knowiwI ill get beyond this point smile

Wishing you continued success & thank for replying.

I understand this feeling. I'm nearly 4 months out and now having major pain from the IT Band. Also the good leg is taking the brunt, had cortisone injection in that one last week. Yesterday both leg muscles hurt so bad it was hard to walk. Better today though.
