Emphysema at 30. could it be wrong?

Hi all,

I had a neck ct scan for another reason which picked up the beginning of my lungs. And the doc said i have emphysema. I also had a digital xray which was completely normal. My breathing tests completely normal. I have no symptom whatsoever. I run daily, i feel fine.

Could anything else resemble emphysema on a ct scan? Or is it 100% that? And no im not a smoker and i dont have the alpha enzyme either.

Im quite worried. I wont be able to see another specialist for a couple of weeks but i feel like this is the end of my life.

hi guys, just fyi...i left my job to come near my family and have all the tests done.

it turns out it was a misdiagnosis. theres no sign of any disease or emphysema in my lungs. maybe the initial doctors were checking someone else's ct scan or they simply are useless. im quite angry.

Hi I bet you are angry that is awful.  When you have calmed down though you will be very grateful that you don't have anything wrong.  I am so glad you are not suffering from this awful illness.  I hope you have a very long and healthy life.  All the best.  x

      Hi Teras

I'm with Hypercat. Another plus to this is that you are away from such gosh-awful docs.

A bit later I hope you'll write letters to the authorities who supervised & licensed those docs.

Get yourself checked again when you're completely well, that's the only way to know for sure.
