Enbrel (for beginners) and fatigue

Posted , 3 users are following.

Hi, I started the Enbrel injections yesterday and the only way to describe me today is a zombie - hardly keeping my eyes open. Sugar and coffee intake improved nothing. Taking ibuprofen yesterday eve (I thought that it might be a flu) made it worse. After a quick browsing, I found that some people experience such effects but I did not find if this is a temporary thing or is this a permanent side effect. Any comment/words of withdom/advice would be more than appreciated.

Interesting... I did my first Humira injection a week ago and felt nothing except a slight soreness and bump at the injection site. Maybe consider that one? By the way except for the left knee which needs to be drained twice a month, I feel tip top.

Thanks. I was on Humira before Enbrel. Made me feel full of energy. Unfortunately that was the only meaningful advantage of the med. Good luck to you!

A few days of flu-like symptoms are a common after-effect directly after all the biologics infusions/injections. Your medic should have warned you to take time off work for that.

Don't worry, it will clear up, and give it a few more weeks and you'll feel like a new human being!

Is this a permanent side effect? Or does it get better with time? Thanks

Do read my post! A few days only.

Where I might not have been clear, is that the drug kicks in after a few more weeks, which is when you'll feel like a new human being.

The flu feelings should be over in three days.
