Encephalitis or intercranial pressure (desperate for info, maybe save my life)

Hi everybody, I am waiting diagnosis from neurologist, and she is scared to lumbar puncture to get more info because of the possible consequences if it is intracranial pressure but i am thinking what if it is brain infection. I have been very past 4 months that started with a sore throat and fatigue and a whole pile of crazy horrible;e symptoms from being on the ground barely to breath for a month to hands now numb and weak n changing tanned darker colour ll the time. I basically been in bed for 4 month and only go to doctors when I go out. Was very active and social 42 yr old before this. Right now my temple muscle on the right side is swollen pretty big for a few months they don't know why (most likely not TMJ), slight vision loss in right eye, upper part. Only time I am ok is lying down on side like typing this in bed. I have hard time even going grocery store because I get dizzy, fatigued, lights and noise start bothering me like on just left side of body I am going to pass but not quite feel super strange, sometimes body feels light, get tension headaches sometimes. At first I thought it was TIA's that happened a couple times but not so sure now. Hearing goes off and on like they are plugged. i have had 2 MRI's on head, CT angiogram on head, CTA on chest back, echocardiogram, hard maybe a possible TIA after stress test. When i got first sick, ophthalmologist tested me, just said i might need reading glasses (doubtful since this happened when i got sick). Movement seems to bother my eyes and head at times like in a car or watching sports game or something. Other symptoms are feet go numb of bottom of feet, and burn occasionally (has got better), left leg gets weak now and arm at times, my toe nails have horizontal lines on them an colouration under is changing but it isnt fungus, diagnosed with lichen planus in mouth now. still jaw at times where my temple muscle is swollen. My ESR is always 1, tested like 6 times which i found strange. So probably can't be GCA, Most other tests are fairly normal. i live in toronto and because it is public health care system and cut backs it's extremely hard to get tests and proper care even if you want to pay (u cant here) though i have been to emergency a number of times. I am very worried now, kept thinking it was going to get better but it seems to get worse. Thank you for reading, Any info anybody can give me would be grateful.

have you researched? its possible your intercranial pressure/ headaches etc. are secondary to the main disease? its was for me..

Thank for the reply, well it's pretty hard to do stuff when youre sick as your probably know. I 've had all basic tests, problem is the doctors, for example my family doctor said he can't do any tests (only tested for basic hep, hiv, cbc etc. but i do what I can and I wen through all tests and found possible irrregularities but said he can't test no more. He got really offended when I said aren't you suppose to help me, so that's how alot of docs are in toronto canada. I have had to really work ind loops to get the tests I have had so far though I have crazy symptoms that you can see but don't really show to much on normal blood tests. My symptoms have changed and on my second neurologist is worried to give me lumber puncture because she thinks I might have intercranial pressure and causing bad damage. How did you get diagnosed with this and what disease was it if you dont mind me asking? I have got so bad so fast, can barely stand up today. Hard to type this, but any info would be grateful as I am prob close to be hospitalized even neurologist kind of agreed but she is waiting for someone to give second opinion (she;s fairly young but great, even calls me at the office and office is in hospital)

they dont do much, just basic blood tests, nothing shows they do nothing, been through this when got sick. when you get sick you really learn how messed things are up, look at things totally different now

other question to how did you get diagnosed with ICP, because for some reason my neurologist afraid to do the lumber puncture, she is awaiting a second opinion. i have had mri and CTA on head nothing shows. Also if it is ICP, should I be very careful in what I do for example don't try to walk to much (u know i am tempted just to see if it's all my head, foolishly optimistic), or like going for a beer over holidays?

What about your liver tests and vitamin B12?
Did you meet any chemicals recently? Drugs? Gases?

liver blood tests basically normally, slight elevation only over the normal range. I l looked at hopitsal records and my b12 was high and they failed to mention this and my ESR rate is always at a low 1 five times..so i am going to get b12 tested monday, do you know what this can mean?no i haven't even gone for a beer over the holidays and dont do drugs. Looked at the gases angle, i got tested for c02 poisioing but i dont think there's a test if you're exposed to low levels. ay thoughts on this i am open. Been in bed since august except to go to the doctors. you wouldnt believe how hard to it get tested here for anything even if you want to pay, I had to go to 5 different doctors to try to get a referral so i can go pay to see if some long shot I got heavy metal poisoning. Huge little fight with family doctor because he wont test for nothing except very basics, its crazy you have to find a doctor and get tests maybe for a couple things , then on to the next one..you can just look at me as see head swollen on temple, lots of physically stuff to know. I was going to emerg to same hospital when this all started on the ground gasping for air hyperventialing for over a month in sept, had tar stool, skin cleaning colour, couple lovely ambulance rides nothing shows on their simple normal blood tests so they do nothing except on CT scan. I didn't know much about hospitals, healthcare system and what tar stool was and so on before I have started educating myself..when you go see a doctor here, so I went that hospital like 8 times in a month causing breathing was so bad..I have access to hospital records so i looked at the reports and doctors there out their remarks, thinks i am having pankick attack and so on when I wasnt stressed and very socialable, woke up like this. and another doctor put my head swoolen is tmj, without xray or diagnosis..so breathing systems went away but i have had to emerg few times over the past couple months for other severe symptoms and the hospitals look at the records at doctors comments. So i had to pyschologists and get letter stating it is not panickk attacks and to oral surgeons to say it not tmj. so if i ever have to go emerg now i bring these letters, this is how crazy n messed up my experience of canadian health care system is at least in toronto. all i am trying to get proper care, and have to deal with this while its hard to do anything..they dont do any tests privately that invasive or serious, i have tried with private companies to get an mri and so on..it's been quite eye opening experience to canadian health care system, you have basically find holes in the sysstem which i am starting to know how to do get tested

Hi,
"discoloured stool" is not in line with normal bilirubin. Of course it may fluctuate. I get jaundice after certain herbs and drugs or even lack of sleep or stress of any kind.
A little jaundice is present all the time actually, my lowest total bilirubin value was still just above upper limit. 2x upper limit usually.
"Mildly fatty liver" is a sign something wrong is going on. It shouldn't be acute or serious issue but if chronic?
If you want spend some money take MRI liver scan or ask for it. Just for sure - eliminate physical changes.
Still disgusted about health care in your country.
If I want MRI scan I go and just buy it. It cost about 1/2 of minimal month salary of full time job.
I wonder if I should take my MRI liver scan. Despite the USG was ok a few years ago it is quite low quality check.
Pozdrawiam,
Przemek

What country rare you in? it's because it is free for most things here, and doctors use it as an excuse to be lazy alot of times (just take the cheque) or afraid to be accountable (seen a few docs want to help, but afraid so they d a couple tests). I am going to start recording some of these conversations I have with doctors, you wouldn't even believe it. Free is not always good if very little private healthcare. I was very unaware how bad it is, until I got sick. Alot of sick people if they can afford it go to the USA and pay for immediate stuff and come back and wait out th system for other stuff, but that's ALOT ! Tomorrow I am going doctor shopping and try to get MRI on stomach, My mother has sometimes comes lately and seems to help. I don't want to manipulate the system, i just want proper care. i have severe stomach pain off and on since this started, along with a month n half tar stool which had to be internal bleeding, That stopped like a month and half ago, blows me away hospital never game me a CT scan or MRI. At the time i didn't know anything, and ya I would invest in mri if you can afford it

Some exhausted by war and german then russian occupation in the middle of Europe: Poland.
CT is even cheaper 50$only.
But theses scans may be done just for sure. I think it may be rather parasite or biochemistry issue.

please ask them to run a battery of EIA tests. this will find a specific fungus...you may have something common like Valley Fever but it has desimenated . it's in ur blood. many fungals are invasive now. mold for instance. also Candida and toe nail fungus too.. the azole antibiotics address fungal infections. get to an infectious disease Dr. I had many of ur symptoms I cld send u pics that wld curl ur hair. and I was tortured by Drs for decades. reg blood tests showed nothing so I wasn't treated or worse they referred me to mental health. I knew I wasn't crazy. I researched and treated myself and FINALLY was able to find the answer.my issue was the disseminated Valley Fever

Dramatic socialism. I want liver test I go I pay 7$ in private lab. Please check for liver test. What about lichen? I've got similar. Due to lines on my skin I suppose tapeworm but I'm stock with my diag for a while. Please check for liver tests! and vitamins B12 and D. CRP?
Do you have a jaundice? It may be very subtle.
Please share other tests.
