Yes , it really is amazing what all I didn't know before the operation and only by finding this site a couple of weeks beforehand saved me from totally freaking. Lots of good pointers and still helpful at 9 wks post op.

Continue coming back, ask questions and find the support you need!

I totally agree Marlene, without this forum I would have felt drifting away without a life boat either that or ringing hospital constantly.

It is like nothing I have ever been through before and how it affects your body, however I think its amazing that I couldn't walk or do anything 23rd Jan and now I can do almost everything and its amazing what they have done for me.

People who haven't been through this op or know anything about it, think its a walk in the park, little do they know.  A small step for mankind, but a large step for a hippie!

Whilst our loved ones can offer sympathy and practical help, the only people who can completely empathise are others who have been through it as there isn't just the physical recovery, there is also an emotional side to our recovery.

This place has been a huge influence on my mental wellbeing while the physical scars heal. I love this place 😀
