End of tether anal fissure

hi. i have chronic constipation. im on reselor for it for 18 months. it works ok. but still suffer. i have had fissure 12-18 months now. was given that steroid cream but did not work .. so was referred to hosp 10 months ago and no sign of appt. i know pandemic. i take laxatives everyday 1. i tried in the past 3 every few days. i have high fibre diet. the fissure is so painful as everyone has experienced.. i get bleeding.. pain..itchy.. almost everytime i go. ive literally tried almost every otc hemaroid cant spell cream.. gel.. suppositories you name it (cuz they have lidocaine in it) but its clearlyjust masking the problem (when they do actually work) got so fed up of waiting i paid for appt i have it tomorrow...does anybody have any other hints and tips to help the pain in the mean time?im only in early 20s i really hope this will be sorted. thxs. i eat flax and chia seeds everyday.. i also bought manuka honey to see if that healed it but no

    Don't rely on laxatives, they are only for temporary use not daily use. They are going to cause you more problems. You need stool softener like magensium citrate or oxide. It's safe to take one supplement a day for long term use.

    Do not use suppositories either, by inserting them up there you could make your fissure worse. Too much fibre and water bulks up the stool and that can also cause retears. You need to find a good balance for a healthy stool. Good that you're eating flaxseed, avoid white flour foods and anything constipating, incorporate also magnesium, pears, kiwis, apricots in your diet.

    Also consider being referred to a CRS so you can discuss surgery. Sometimes it's too far gone and needs surgery if it's too deep.
