End of week 4

Today is the end of week 4 for me and although the shaking has subsided I feel no huge benefit of the new med yet. I am day 6 of my increased dosage to 150. I have extreme depersonalation and agoraphobia, anxiety in the mind nd low mood.
Anyone else like this or can relate? Any reassurance? As I'm feeling like its not going to work.

Hi Ger. I can relate to this. Like you I also have the same as you. I am on week 10 of Sertaline but only 50mgs. Seeing my gp tomorrow and no doubt will have to up. I have been told that sertaline can take 6 to 8 weeks to really work and sometimes longer as we are all different.
I am feeling alot better than what I was before sertaline but I still have bad days which I guess even the most healthy people have anyway. You have to stick it out and get regular check ups with your gp. I do go out and on my bad days I make myself get out there and remind myself it's me causing this and there is nothing wrong and nothing will happen. I know how hard it is when you are stuck in that moment.

Helps me sleep other than that I don't feel it does anything for my mood. I'm on it over 2 years.

Everyone is different, what works for some might not for others!
Have the docs said they'all put you on a higher dose, are you gradually working up? Don't forget too that whenever you increase your dose the side effects are still doing the rounds, it's like you're starting again and anxiety etc can still be a big part of those initial side effects.
Have you tried anything like CBT to help out? perhaps you could set some goals for yourself, however tiny, to help you with the day to day? Call up a friend, cook some nice food and when you have built this up go for a 10 minute walk. This stuff really helps me, trying not to worry too much about the "bigger picture" and therefore my bigger worries but just getting day to day feeling like I have done something to feel good about
