ENDEP side effects

i have been taking ENDEP 10 mg for sciatic pain in the right leg caused by a synovial syst on the S1 facet joint. I was prescribed ENDEP 10 mg by my back specialist for the pain. It does seem to help, but , i now find my eyesight is getting very blurry. I have been taking it for 8 weeks. i am wondering if the ENDEP may be causing the eye sight problem. Has anyone had this experience ?????? Thanks....

Go to the drugs dot com website and look for Endep (or its generic amitriptyline). Check side effects and especially interactions with other meds you are currently taking.

I've had to deal with sciatica many times over the past decades but the one time I needed a surgical fix was a bone spur at L4/L5 pinching the sciatic nerve root. Same day surgery...complete success. Consider that route instead of taking meds that really don't fix the problem.

I have had a look at the side effects, it mentions blurred vision, that is why i was wondering if anyone else has experienced the problem. I am booked in for back surgery to clean up the cyst area ,but going public , so it may be a while. Trying ENDEP was a suggestion from the back specialist for an interim fix , (if it works, good oh,) Have also had cortisone injections but, very limited success with them. So i guess it is any port in a storm sort of thing....... thanks for the reply.

ENDEP 10mg tablets are a brand of Amitriptyline , this is a nerve blocker that is supposed to block pain messages from the effected areas to the brain and make you feel all good again. !!!!!!!!!

If you have Glaucoma or high inner eye pressure, it might be causing the pressure to go up more affecting your eyesight. Did you tell the doctor if you have eye problems?

My GP knows i am taking ENDEP, and , no , i have no Glaucoma. Blurred sight can be one of the side effects so it appears. I have just had an eye examination and he seems

to think the tabs may be causing the blurring as i have no other problems ,except small cataracts. Time will tell i guess. In about a month i am going to stop the medication and see if it clears up.

That will also tell me if the tabs were helping the back pain, (maybe ?????)
