Endometriosis do you also have upper abdominal pain ?

Posted , 11 users are following.

I have had abdominal pain for 2 months now both upper and lower. I have had every test possible even with my gi doc. I have had ct with contrast ct without upper gi endoscopy, MRI with contrast bloodwork all comes back normal. I finally go to my gyno because the one thing that did show up was cysts and fibroids but he said we would just keep an eye on them. He did tell me I was diagnosed with adenomyosis 5 years ago when he did my ablasion for some reason I don't remember him telling me that. Anyway what I was wondering is did anyone on here with endometriosis have upper abdominal pain also?? I'm worried because mine is also upper that it could b something else so I'm scared but it is the same kind of pain. Can someone please help me out?? Thank you!

    Hey Joann,

Im so sorry your having issues. I have been in pain since Nov 3rd 2017. Like you, it started on my right side and sonce has spread to the center and upper abdomen. Sometimes I even have pain on the left side. The only other consistent symptoms have been a non-existent appetite and an intolerance to alcohol (1 drink and I feel like I have to vomit...I used to drink a lot so this is very strange for me). My doctors went the reverse route of you. They went obgyn route first. I was tested for Pelvic inflammatory disease first. It was negative. Urinalysis, all negative. Birth control pills to help stop the pain, didnt work. And just had laproscopy 2 weeks ago. I had 2 hemorrhagic cysts (blood filled irregular cysts) and suspicious tissue, which can back positive for endometriosis. They removed all of it along with the cysts. They said I would be feeing great after a week but I still have the exact pain I had before the removal of everything (along with some surgery pains of course...). So they think I have something else going on in addition to the endo and are now sending me to the GI specialist. And, they want me to start treatment for the endo. All this and pain is not gone. I have no idea what I have but maybe this will give you another perspective or peice of mind. If I get diagnosed, Ill let you know what they came up with for me.

...this sux! Im so sorry youre going through this too.

I had severe abdominal pain as well. I had surgery yesterday and my endometriosis had caused my colon to attach to itself and to my rectum and uterus. It can definitely spread outside the reproductive system and mimic IBS symptoms.

Hi everyone I did have my surgery and it was not endometriosis but I had a lot of adhesions and my uterus was attached to my other organs and it was pulling on them so that was causing all that pain I do feel better now but they said they could come back so I’m praying not!

Hey Jo, How are you doing post op?

I am going through the exact same situation at the minute. Just waiting on my laparoscopy.

I have a few symptoms that I am wondering if u also had?

      Tugging sensation on organs,

Did your stomach hurt to touch ? I can’t  even wear a bra my whole abdomen feels that inflammed , sometimes I can even feel small nodules/lumps around my  pelvic area and up by my ribs when It’s really swollen,   its so odd, I’m leaning towards it being adhesions or endo, I do also have cysts on my ovaries. Did they tell you what caused your adhesions at all?

Anyway I hope you are recovering well ??
