Endometriosis laparoscopy

Hi, I had a laparoscopy yesterday to diagnose and possibly treat endometriosis. When I came around the gynae (she’s not a specialist) told me that there’s no endometriosis ‘all is clear’ but reading my discharge letter it says ‘Flemsy adhesions on right ovarian fossa separated with blunt dissection’ and also fecal loading. She has put all my symthoms (including extreme pain during sex and after sex) down to constipation.
I am confused because adhesions are literally what endometriosis is characterised by and she had to cut them. And also I feel like just because she has seen fecal loading she has put it down to that. While I’m aware and looking Into being referred to bowel dept I am concerned about the adhesions she cut away because isn’t this endometriosis? I’m confused and honestly upset after my laproscopy I am no closer to having a definitive diagnosis than I was before.
Any one experience anything?

Hi Leopinkx
It's hard to see right now, but if the gyno is correct, you have cause to celebrate: endo is not curable, only treatable to varying degrees, sometimes not treatableat all.
Other things cause pelvic adhesions, including infections & surgeries. You might not even have known about the infection. I assume that the material she cut out was sent to a pathologist for analysis. Call her office & make sure of that point because if it wasn't sent & got trashed, you need to break with her NOW & find somebody else.
I am astounded that your pre- procedure bowel prep left you with any fecal matter to be seen but i guess it's good that things happened that way. Yes, bad constipation can make sex painful during & after sex. It's a good thing you're having that seen to.
Explain all your symptoms & the gyno's findings to the gastroenterologist. Most of those specialists/consultants know more about endo than most gynos and GPs, IMO.

hi @aitarg35939 thank you for your response i have to check if she sent what she cut out to be checked i hope so. prior to my surgery i was checked for many infections all came back negative and havent had any prior surgeries so dont think these are the causes. i didnt have to do a bowel prep for my surgery just nil by mouth. and yes in regards to my bowels im going to be asking for a referal to look into that side of things. its all so stressful not knowing what is wrong and painful along the way !

I want to also encourage this advice, particularly ensuring that you will receive a pathology report. I have never been able to recover the pathology report from my first surgery, and it causes no end of inconvenience as it has now led to conflicting medical opinions based on visuals alone.
