Greetings, I understand your fears. I had an endoscopy performed in August of 2018, during a hospitalization for a bleeding ulcer. I was excited to have the procedure, in order to stop the bleeding, believe it or not! I had no complications nor pain. I had a follow-up endoscopy in October 2018, and had no complications nor pain after, either. Please don't be afraid to ask questions of your doctor. I wish you good health.

thank you so much! can I ask did you go to the er for it? im at the er but still haven't been seen

Yes, I was told to go immediately to the ER. The doctor's stabilized me with Protonix , as it was a Sunday, and the GI specialist was out. I had the endoscopy 24 hours later

how how long did you have the black poo before you went to the hospital? see I only had one poop with one dime-sized shape black speck. I left the hospital because they are super busy and I read that they sedate you and I don't have anybody to take me home. so I'm just going to see how tonight goes and maybe go in again tomorrow. do you think that is wise with just what I've seen in my poop so far?

I noticed the black stool out if the blue one morning. 15 minutes later, I began to vomit blood, which is why I was hospitalized so long. I would'nt ignore it, they may not perform the endoscopy tonight, but, perhaps you will receive a medication to stabilize you in the meantime. You most definitely will be sedated during the endoscopy. Better health to you!
