Endoscopy

hi I have had a problem with vomiting for almost 6 months now. i posted on here a few weeks ago. cutting a long story short i have been vomiting every day now since the start of may. i had my second endoscopy yesterday as they needed to take several biopsies. as i went into the room for the procedure, the doctor said he had to wait as my heart rate was too high. after about 5 minutes it had gone back down so was able to have the sedation. as they began the endoscopy, a minute or so into it i was retching uncontrollably. they had to abandon it as it was too unsafe. i had an endoscopy about 2 months ago and i had no retching at all, only initially as it went down. i have got to now wait to have it under general anasthetic. i am now a bit worried as to why i was retching so aggressively, since yesterday i have been sick constantly and am even unable to keep water down this evening. any one else have this problem with endoscopy? and help or similarities would be really helpful

If you are having retching, I would doubt they would do a general anaesthetic either because of the risk unless they have procedures in place to watch out for this. My problem with the endoscopy was a severe reaction to the sedation rather than retching or vomiting.

You need make sure that they put reasonable adjustments in place for you. I have to ask for all sorts of adjustments from dentists, my GP surgery and hospital.

    update

had the endoscopy yesterday. found out the vomiting daily since may has caused Oesophagitis, an ulcer in the Oesophagus, Gastritis & a lesion in my stomach that needs investigating. They still do not know what is causing me to vomit though. they took multiple biopsies so hoping something from them can help them figure out whats causing the vomiting.
