Help just had results from my endoscopy and it states that all was normal in oesphagus and stomach but on second part of duodenum they found intraepithelial lymphocytes and has said though it's non specific can be associated with early coeliac disease or NSAIDS. ? They have asked me to be referred for coeliac serology. What else Is intraepithelial lymphocytes related to??

You don't say whether you've been using NSAIDs. Nor do you say why you originally had the endoscopy. I wouldn't worry too much about this. They're clearly on it as they've referred you for coeliac investigations. If these come out negative they'll almost certainly keep an eye on you for the next year or so.

I'm sure you'll have googled this for yourself anyway, but I don't think you should get too worried about all the possible reasons for finding intraepithelial lymphocytes. The problem is, once they get into your intestines they quite often find minor abnormalities that would never have caused a problem if no one had known about them.

In that case it sounds to me as if this was just a random finding not worth worrying about. Go through with whatever other investigations they suggest to put your mind at rest. If they find anything else it will be at a very early stage anyway. If not, then just set it aside and get on with your life.

Btw, have you tried basic practical measures for managing your acid reflux? I got mine largely under control by identifying the foods that made it worse - especially in the evening - and sleeping with the head of my mattress slightly raised. It started when I was in my mid-30s, 35 years ago, and was quite bad then but I hardly ever have a problem with it these days. Oh - and I also found that wearing my trousers too tight made it worse, presumably by increasing pressure in my abdomen and forcing stuff back up. I'm much less vain now and prefer comfort!
