hi had this done 2 and a half weeks ago in the back of my lower leg. I am still having quite a bit of pain when standing but not to bad when walking . The job I do means I am on my feet for 8 hrs so as it is too painful I am not able to return to work. I thought I would get back to work and be pain free a couple of days after I had the op.. the pain is really bad cramping/ knotting     help is this normal???

I had this done early April and also a lot of phlebectomies. Personally I didn't feel any pain just some discomfort beyond a few days. If I kicked a ball etc then I felt it but I just lived within my limitations and built my recovery from there. I recall my consultant telling me to aim for frequent short walks as opposed to the other way around. I knew I'd had something done if I stood on it but I wouldn't have called it pain. If it's red in colour or really painful I think I'd contemplate asking for a quicker follow up.

I had this done 2 weeks ago today on my lower leg also. I am experiencing the same thing as you - it seems to ease off as I walk on it (but if I over do it, it hurts more when I stop) but standing still it is really painful. I have a lot of bruising from the avulsions so I thought maybe it was just that causing most the aches? I am not sure though - I also thought that I would be fine after a few days! 2 weeks later I have my support stocking on and when I take it off it hurts to walk!! How is your leg feeling now?
