Energy Lifts (B5 and Ribose)
Posted , 5 users are following.
I posted some info on these on the CFS and FM groups but probably can't hurt to put this here too.
I use both and have been out of the Pantothenic Acid B5 but just ordered a new supply.....These help with my energy levels, today is a draggy day. Joy
B5 I take 500mg a couple times a day at least.
Ribose 1 scoop in clean water 1-4 times per day as needed.

.Do a search on Ribose, so you get the whole picture....I first heard about it when I attended a FM/CFS support group many years ago..... My friend who deals with ME has been using Ribose for 7.5 yrs and me about 7 yrs off and on....using it more recently and all since hip replacement trauma in 2010......So, this is my saga drama stuff.....

From what I understandRibose is a sugar made by our birdie after eating certain food.
some comes in powder form and help s energy during workouts.
I som cas dr have given it thry IV.
I would do research and ask UR dr before taking any supplementations recommended here.
it may interact with any current meds or supplements. Just because they r supplements they should require safety methods for UR condition. Not a all supplements r safe.

Indeed, I too take a lot of supplements, but that together with the knowledge and guidance of my nature path/doctor/specialist. I'm able to discuss and ask questions. And that way, together, we've come far already.
Working towards a more manageable LS.

I take supplements too. My doctor has advised me on many . I have taken many for years not sure many help.
especially PSA , OA & other medical issues. Diet is important.
Surgery is recommended for my hands with Dupuytrens contracture this is on auto immune disease. I wish supplements would help. It runs in the family as other forms of arthritis I have.
I hope u can get UR LS at least in remission. As many do go into remission randomly. It's a difficult struggle.
Hope UR doing better soon. U sound determined and positive .

And yes, I'm determined. Hard work perhaps pays off.
All the best I wish you.

i never eat prepared foods or boxed. All prepared natural veggies and only grass feed animals and a lot of fresh fish.
Many have raved about eating alkaline diets. Alkaline is a PH above 7.0 if u have testing stripes then it's easer to keep track of how alkaline UR body is at any given moment. I've watch drs speaking in videos on you tube. Read books. There are great expectations for alkaline diets. There is a lot of info on it. It just did not help me .
Struggling and studying what is best for u and what works for u is very helpful. It does not work for me. There is even alkaline water u can purchase as well as alkaline foods & supplements, additives to add to water.
Good luck on UR food intake with alkaline foods I hope it helps you.
Always be be curous and search for what works for you!

I accidently landed on the alkaline/accidity end of things. Was already on gluten free, suger free, no caffeine, no alcohol, no soya, cautious dairy diet. Will have to stick to all that due to other health issues. Then compared it with the list of alkaline foods. I thought that I was already pretty close to the alkaline diet. And it seems to make a difference. This together with my baking soda rinse and coconut oil 'regime'. I'm clearly helped by it all. I hope that my effort will result in a better way of living with LS.
I wonder how much of a difference the alkaline diet makes with the anti-flamatory diet. Would you be able to explain?

Hanny I've been following your progress with the alkalinity thing and the use of bicarb..I'm sure its helpful ..but do you know what I think may really be making the difference? Its since you said that you consulted further with your Naturopath and reviewed your supplements.
I was wondering...did he add some anti-oxidants...and other things?
It seemed to me very much that the improvement you experienced might well have arisen from those adjustments....! and that perhaps this is due to internal changes rather than the more superficial applications which you perceived as making the difference. Do you think this is possible? Just a thought as your progress has been quite profound. I really think that something has shifted for you and that the anti-oxidants if that is what you have added might be making the difference. Do you think this is possible?

The improvements started clearly with the external. (no doubt) (and is still very important) The external then became a starting point and I understood 'the why' better after consulting with my family physician as well as my naturepath. They both pointed in the same direction. But both had not made the connection with LS at that point.
So it became 'all hands on deck' so to speak. I was already taking a lot of so called supplements due to other health issues. And already followed a strict diet, that proved to be fairly alkaline. (small adjustments) Not much needed to be added and substracted, but may proof to be important. I will make a new appointment next week, to hear what they have to say about the result(s) this far. Also will visit the specialist who did the dilation procedure.
Amazing how close I was all the time, but if you're not understanding things, then you won't see why you should pursue further. And also, in a short period of time there was much to learn about this 'new kid on the block', nasty 'inconvenience' that now finally got a name - LS. For which I learned "there was no cure".
In spite of various interpretations regarding this disease, I am very hopeful at this moment in time that I will find a way to make it more liveable. And as far as I can see today - I'm coming all the time a little closer. (You know how bad a condition I was in only a short couple of months ago.) (yes, it really looked like Barbie with only a pin hole left to pass urine) (you would never know that there had ever been anything else) (Not to mention the psychological drama a person goes through.)
However, one needs to be careful to say "I found a cure". That's absolutely not the case. Also, we know that there are various kinds of LS. What I'm doing works for me, but maybe not for someone else. And what will happen when I stop being so diligent with the baking soda rinse, bath and the coconut oil? There is still a lot of unknown.
However, so far so good. Marching on and all the time learning more.
Thanks for your support. Wishing you WELL.

I may have mentioned this before but if not....check out sites online re:
Alkaline acidic food charts
When one eats acidic foods then it's a given the body will become more acidic and then work to counteract that issue. J

that is so great! its so brilliant that things have moved on so much and so quickly for you!!
I couldn't agree more that its all about understanding getting it and feeling the conviction.
well you really think the bicarb did it?
you were doing that BEFORE adding more supplements? or do you think the supplements were kicking in? ARE YOU TAKING ANTI-OXIDANTS?

I think that I have left nothing 'un-tried'. Following a mostly alkaline diet - fruits and vegies (anti-oxidants), organic mostly. (own garden and orchard) Much of this diet was already in place due to other health issues, but needed fine tuning. (Left out sugar, caffeine, gluten, soya, alcohol, most dairy for a long time already)
Biggest 'kicker' I think has been the bicarb. Both outside and inside. Plus coconut oil. The use of this combo showed a change in relatively short time.
