Enlarged neck gland

Hi my 3 year old boy has developed a very large gland in his neck just below the ear and jaw, id say its the size of a small plum, hes been given antibiotics, he has abit of a cough runny nose and congestion but other than that is quite well in himself, im obviously concerned its somthing more serious, any reasurrance would be great thanks.

    Have they done a ct or mri of his salivary gland on that side? Sounds like something similar to what my daughter had when she was younger.

      No nothing like that yet, im hoping the antibiotics are gonna bring it down, i shall return to gp in 2 weeks where they will refer him to have scans and stuff done to find out what it is, thats if its still there, ive googled non stop and come across cancer and it scares me so much

      Unfortunately the first thing most search results come back with is lymphoma bc of the area it is in. Has he had any blood work lately? My daughter had a salivary gland infection that had similar swelling but also made her violently ill. There are also salivary stones which produce those symptoms as well. Try not to take Dr. Google too seriously right now. I have two kids with multiple chronic illnesses so i know how on edge things like this can make you.
