Enlarged Prostate

Hi team,

I am after information regarding the following.

I have been diagnosed with an enlarged prostate, but the thing is, does it cause problems for the bowl?, It's is not constipation but embarrassed to say over the past couple of months I have been having quite a few bouts of gastroenteritis. My diet has not changed and take Loperamide to counter act these symptoms that I have from the Metformin.

Any feedback would be much appreciated.

Sorry for your loss dene32609, All I know at this time is that after my routine bladder cancer tests as I am just in remission. They picked up on the enlarged prostate and I am now taking medication to slow the frequent trips I was doing with my urine output. Now that is temporarily under control I am now making up to 9 trips because of my bowl and was wondering why?

    To Mark357:

For what its worth, I used to have an enlarged prostate.  The Doctor described it as the Hulk Hogan of prostates.  It was painful to have it checked.

I ate a tomato every day for lunch.  The size diminished over about a year and my next and subsequent checkups were normal.  I understand that ketchup works too and I used that on everything else, like chips and burgers.  Nothing was connected to the bowel.  Every man over 40 should have a colonoscopy to check the colon as a preventative measure.  Hope this helps.

      Hi Mikey123

Thxs for your feedback, but sadly I am not able to eat tomatoes as they go through me like a dose of salmonella and as for ketchup I don't have because of tomato additives and sugar contents as I am diabetic, with diabetic neuropathy trying too control it. But if there is an alternative, then I would be appreciate further info.
