Hi. 23cc volume is very small and almost 'normal'? Many are prescribed Finasteride for BPH and there are other drugs. I would discuss drug options. I used Saw Palmetto the standard herbal drug for 25 years but ended-up with a 130cc prostate when I had my HoLep so for me that drug didn't work. Try to find a good urologist out there.

Hi. Finasteride is a very popular drug for BPH but can reduce the libido a little as it suppresses some aspects of testosterone production. Saw Palmetto is the equivalent herbal remedy. It may be your prostate althouhg not enlarged is still causing a narrowing to the urethra? I believe there are simple surgical procedures to help with that BUT do avoid TURP or similar at your age as it usually causes retrograde ejaculation

You seem very young to start having enlargement of prostate. In my 50s and 60s I had suspected enlargement, but in the end, my urologist said my prostate was not very big and I should try changing my drinking habits. I was mainly drinking tea and coffee. Since taking his advice and cutting out these drinks (except occasionally) my urination issues, whilst not gone, have improved considerably. It's important to give this trial several months, and not to substitute decaffeinated, as these have aggravating substances in them too. I believe carbonated drinks are also best avoided.

At 32, you should be peeing like a race horse.  You should proceed with extreme caution.  Find a good urologist to help pinpoint and treat your symptons.

I could not take Tamsulosin or Finestride due to the side effects including the rapid heart rate, gastrointestinal problems, delayed orgasm and temporary RE (semen returns when you stop taking it)

I would suggest surgery as a last resort at your age.  There are risks involved with any surgery, even infection on a simple set of stitches on a cut.  Your "junk" is too important to rush into a permanent outcome.  If you reveal the area in which you live, perhaps some of the men here can recommend a good urologist near you.

    Wish you well.

For herbal help, start with 1000 mg of pumkin seed oil 3 times a day. If that doesn't have a positive effect in 3 weeks, switch to 500 mg stinging nettle root 3 times a day. If that has no effect in 3 weeks, switch to 100 mg pygeum bark extract 3 times a day. Keep any herbal that helps and stop any that have no effect. I never had any help from saw palmetto, or beta sitosterol, or quercitin. Everyone is different - surgery should be your last option.

BPH does not itself have to impair sexual functioning. However, many medications and procedures intended to help with the symptoms of bph do alter functioning. At your age I presume you want a choice about creating new life, but drugs like Tamsulosin cause semen to go back into the bladder and not  into your partner. The main thing is to ask questions about these side effects of any Doctor that might recommend bph remedies.

Good morning.  First of all at 32 you need to avoid any surgery  you may want to get married and have kids.  Alot of the surgery would stop take.  Also alot of the meds will do the same.  You need to find a doctor that care about your age.  Like the one man said the pumkin seed oil may work for you flomax would work but that would give you dry orgasm.  20 mg of cialis would help you allso.  The are many med that will help that cause no sexaul side effect you just have to find  a doctor that will help you.  Just stay away from surgery your prostate is not that large that you need it..Ken

Are you regularly constipated ? I found out that constipation often gives symptoms similar to BPH, since the hard poop can push an pinch on the urethra, just like a prostate. Hank

At your age it is more likely non-bacterial prostatitis... do a search of this on the web. Also, pelvic floor syndrome [which is synonomous with non-bacterial prostatitis] should also be researched. Have a look at the symptoms for these. If you were to have a cystoscopy by a urologist, I would bet your prostate would be fine. The non-bacterial prostatitis [pelvic floor syndrome] is difficult to diagnose, and can sort of mimic enlarged prostate symptoms. When you do your search, have a look at the symptoms and decide if this might be you. All the Best

You may have distended (stretched) bladder. Have you had in the past trying to hold in from peeing for extended period of time ? That would cause distended bladder. It also give BPH symptoms. Hank
