Enlarged Superficial Dorsal Vein

For as long as I can remember I've had an enlarged superficial dorsal vein.
This vein is present (And very unsightly) when flaccid and becomes less evident when I'm aroused. Now in my mid-30's, it's only recently that I've come to terms how much this condition has affected my confidence and held me back.
I've contacted multiple health professionals. Many don't respond at all, others tell me the procedure I need is the ligation of this vein. This surgery is not always effective, I'm told, and may leave a scar which is more unsightly than my current condition.
While other conditions seem to be well discussed among men, there's little I've found about this online. I'd like to know if any readers have a similar condition. And if so, what the best treatment options are?

Veins on the penis are often very prominent. Everything is relative. What is easily ignored by some is a big issue for others. Without photos, it's hard to get a real idea of what you are describing. If you want to to post a photo it has to be using a computer - desktop or laptop - and not a phone or tablet. It also has to be a direct upload rather than a link to a photo storage website.
That said, my initial reaction is that you seem to be being over self-conscious about this. As long as it isn't painful and works well, why would you or your partner let it get in the way of your love and pleasure? Not all people think the penis is a particularly attractive organ anyway - I don't think personally that nature made it primarily for looking at!

Hello my friend. I have one of them. It goes from the base to about a each or so from the head. This is the way you were made. Why would you want to get rid of that. I would never have my penis worked on like that. To many problems can happen. When I'm flaccid I know I have it and I can see it when I go to the bathroom. When I'm erect I can see it more it's puffed up. It has never giving me a problem with sex. I have never had any complaints. It is your body and you should not worry about that. They to relax and enjoy your life Ken

Thanks Kenneth and Pepasan,
It's a relief to finally talk about this and receive advice.
I wouldn't be comfortable posting an image but I can outline it. Like many men, the dorsal vein is apparent at the origin of the penis. However, mine swells as it branches to the left.
Growing up 1 or 2 people commented that it wasn't normal. Despite seeing a few examples of prominent dorsal veins I've never another so swollen. I would imagine my condition is rare. Perhaps 1 in 100 or more.
It would be great to feel uninhibited and never have to worry about this. So, if I found a viable treatment option I'd definitely pursue it. That aside, this vein is far less apparent when I'm aroused so I can live with it.
Thanks again for your feedback. I really appreciate it.
