It was cancer. Just like I knew it was. So I I were you I would demand to be refered because the doctor's havent got a clue. I've had surgery and waiting to start chemo

I really urge you to go to hospital. If the doctor wont refer you then just go to a&e and demand an ultrasound. Stomach and back pain is common. Its the first place it spreads to. Lymph nodes. I'm not trying to worry you but just go and get it sorted.

      Sorry to hear that Richard,

I had altrasound and examination few months back when the pain was at its worst, the testical pain isn't the main problem it's the right side back and stomach,

I will demand extra examination tho for piece of mind,

      What age are you?

I had read up on a lot of these and the painless but it common in cancer, I have pain with mine like a strain or pull, feels swollen to the body but not swollen visually. my health anxiety is my worst part.

No problem. Its easy for the doctor to dismiss it as IBS but its not worth the risk in my opinion. They should be refering you straight away. There's no way they know, what is wrong without an ultrasound. Good luck. Let me know what happens.

    Hey Richard,

Thanks for sharing your story and I wish you the best of luck.  I know I have testicular cancer.  I started having a dull ache last week and noticed a small pea sized lump this week so I am moving right a long with an ultra sound tomorrow an appointment with a urologist on Friday.  I know my body and like you, I know I have it.  I have been climbing the walls and just crippled with anxiety since I felt the lump and set the appointments up on Monday, but I am just trying to find solice in the fact that the cure rate is high.  Good on you for being persistent.  I actually want the surgery because I want this testicle out of my body.  Its my left testicle, and I've never liked that one anyway.

How are you feeling now?  Did they give you any results in terms of what your treatment will be?  Have they given you a prognosis?

Hello I feel ok at the moment buy still recovering from surgery. When you gave your surgery you should be in and out in one day. I'm still sore and aching a little but each day its easing off. I had a heamatoma in my scrotum after the surgery and that left me with a blood clot, a gathering of dried up blood at the top of my scrotum where the spermatic cord rises up into the groin. This area becomes bruised and damaged during surgery because they pull your testicle up through the inguinal canal. Nerves, muscle and an artery to the testicle are cut and it all takes Tim to heal up. I had a haematoma because I tried to do too much too quick. I have got a seminoma tumor and i am still waiting to be staged by the consultant next week. But from what I've been told its confined to the testicle and has not spread. I will most probably need a day or two of chemo. Carboplatin I think it is. Then regular surveillance for up to 5 years. All I can say is you will have your good days and bad days. If your having a bad day make sure you look to your family and friends to help you cope with it. It wont really hit you straight away and when it does you will hit rock bottom for a few days. But the main thing is to keep positive and do things to take your mind off it . Also for me I found it easier to deal with I I had an understanding of what was going on so I did research about it all to help me understand it. There's a forum on MacMillan support website which I full of people who can answer any questions about it. If its cancer and even if its spread you can get through it. The treatments are very effective. My friends cancer spread to his lungs and liver and he beat it. And had two kids afterwards. If your going to get cancer this is the one to have. Anyway I hope that helps, if you want to ask anything else don't hesitate

I really appreciate the response Richard and am glad to hear you're doing well. I think I have been at the bottom the past few days as I have completely accepted I have it. it may get worse obviously depending on the diagnosis. My concern is that since the lump was so small I missed it and let it go too long. The moment I found it I went in though so that's all I can do really. We will see what happens. I'm pretty frightened for sure. Just sucks because I feel so healthy in every other way.

Yeah i agree its very scary but you will get through it. When I went for CT scans and blood tests I would panic. And when they were putting cannulas in my hand etc. I've never had anything wrong with me before. But I walked back to my car afterwards thinking that wasn't as bad as I thought. Then on the way home I would start to feel more relaxed. The worst part iscall the waiting to go to hospital and then waiting for results. So its important to keep busy every day upto surgery to keep ur mind off it. And then after surgery is the worst part. I had some sh*t days. Nit gona lie. After surgery the first night was agonizing. I was in lots of pain. And for another few days after that. If you don't get payed whilst off work like me then I would claim housing benefit etc but it takes ages to sort out so if you need to do it I would start the ball rolling as soon as you know your going to be off work. I'm an electrician and if I don't work I don't get payed. So I'm on SSP
