ENT HELP! Ear, Nose, Throat degrading/breaking down?!

Posted , 3 users are following.

Inner ear seems to be getting deeper on the right side, left side feels strange, throat/tonsils looking degraded  (i think the connection from throat to ear is now visible), cartilage in nose feels flimsy, and  has something like a scab on my inner septum that will not heal completely. I dont use drugs, have never snorted anything, but have struggled with an OCD-related body picking disorder. I've tried saline solutions but they do nothing to remedy any problems. I'm beginning to wonder if its some kind of flesh eating bacteria and I'm kind of freaking out.

I have absutely no idea what your problem might be.

I suggest you make an appointment to see a Dr as soon as possible

Please do yourself a favor and stop treating and picking at yourself. I'm sure that advice is much easier to give than to follow...but you can do it!

Saline is good for certain reasons but if you're not clearing excess mucous, you can draw the moisture from the cells/tissue and possibly cause damage. Especially if, as you seem to indicate, you do it excessively. If you have to perform a ritual to heal yourself, try some steam, but set a timer for a few minutes while you breathe it in from the shower, a boiling pot, etc and be careful you don't burn yourself. That could help add back some moisture - if that's needed.

I'd say chances are quite rare that you have a flesh eating illness of some kind. You're brave to come here and tell your story, even as you're afraid that it's a horrible illness. Most likely, it's not but seeing a ENT doctor could help you and perhaps a therapist could help with the OCD behaviours.

Hang in there, RAryder! Please seek help and keep us posted!! HUGS to you!
