Enzalutamide

Husband diagnosed with metastastic prostate cancer March 2015.  Had orchidectomy in April 2015 and Spinal cord Compression emergency operation December 2015 resulting in significant nerve damage.  Received 5 days of high dose radiotherapy in February 2016. Now in Enzalutamide daily.  Does anyone know how long Enzalutamide will be effective in stablising the cancer or know of anyone else on this trial.

I have just started on Enzlutamide 3 weeks ago after chemo failed. When I asked how long I would be on it I was told it would be as long as it was working.I will be monitored every 4 wks through blood tests.

I recently started on Enzalutamide after chemo had failed but after only 2 weeks it was making me so ill I had to stop taking it.My Oncologist says my body could not tolerate it and I am seeing him tomorrow to discuss alternatives. But with a PSA of 160 and scans showing my cancer has spread through my bones I am not hopeful that they can find anything to help. I do know that when I was put on Enzalutamide I asked how long I had to take it and was told I would take it as long as it works.

Hi Terry sorry to hear you had problems with enzalutamide, my husband seems to be ok with it but we have had a consultant appointment today and cancer has now spread through to right arm, so as far as we are aware it's now in spine, ribs, right hip and upper arm. CT scan Wednesday and good blast of radiotherapy to follow. PSA is reducing very slowly though. Please keep me informed how you get on.
