Epileptic and bipolar type 2! Why can't I tolerate ssri or snri

Day one of cymbalta 30mg prescribed by psychiatrist! Already take lomtrigine for epilepsy and mirtazipine! Why can i not tolerate anti depressants! Same old same old! I have taken one 8hrs ago and feel all whizzy again grinding my teeth pupils are dialated! Feel like I have taken a stimulant! I expect an even worse night slerp than normal! Not sure if I can do this to myself again! Best staying low and anxious! Will these symptoms reduce or is it going to induce a hyper mania! 😞 Any advise would be really welcome

Mirtazipine is an antidepressant isn't it? Remeron? My elderly Dad had to get on that awhile to increase his appetite after having a stroke an in hospital for 2 months. Got to where he didn't want to eat. It also helps with sleep. So you are on 2 antidepressants? That increases your chances of Seratonin Syndrome or siezure. You might want to ask a pharmacist. There is a 20mg pill here in USA of Duloxetin. I started at 30mg for 2 wks. No side effects except it helped with my fibromyalgia. I didnt hurt! Then went to 60mg. But my blood pressure went up an I usually dont have high b/p. But I was also under alot of stress at that time. I stopped it after 6 wks. Oh man withdrawl symptoms were evil. Lasted about 2-3 wks. But Im thinking about starting it again. I have depression an GAD. Also 1yr an half into menopause so just nutso rt now! An Im only 47! Why did Dr put u on 2 antidepressants? Wierd. Just wondering.

Ahhh thanks for the reply! Basically I was diagnosed with type 2 bipolar 6 years ago! I couldn't take ssri medication even with a mood stabiliser! They would always make me whizzy! Just high really like I have had a stimulant! I have been taking mirtazipine for approx 2 years to ok effect after I got over the initial side effects! At least it didn't make me whizzy and helped with sleep for a time! However it stopped helping with sleep so I take melotonin with it as well! But as with all meds with me they appear to stop working! Where it gets complicated though is that last year when I was 3 days into a 2 week holiday in Egypt to celebrate my 40th I had 2 grand mal seizures and went for eeg and it turns out I have epilepsy which starts in the left temporal lobe! And am photosensitive as well! I have been on lomtrigine since and am only having partial seizures! But apparently the left side of the brain effects emotions! Which kinda adds up as I have become much more anxious thus resulting in me being given cymbalta! The psych knows how they effect me historical but knows I'm in a mess! I reluctantly agreed! I had 6 hrs sleep last night which I couldn't believe because I felt so high! I had one this morning and now I'm peaking and feel strange and quite concerned! Im in a quandary because I want to feel better but don't want destabilising further! 😞 Really appreciate your time thank you

Medacation is a nightmare, I've had last few years trying to find something I have depression and ME and this makes you senestive to chemicals.

i did feel like I'd had speed or something but it's passed now I also was sweating every night and sleep not great but that's getting better.

If you can go with it and try and get threw the side effects to see if they can help.

hope you get somewhere with them smile
