Episodic reticulocytosis and hemolysis

I found out I have unconjugated hyperbilirubinemia two months ago (I have Gilbert's syndrome). Five weeks later I tested my reticulocytes for the first time and they were elevated. A week afterwards, reticulocytes were normal. Another week later reticulocytes were still normal and haptoglobin was right at the lower bound for normal range. LDH was normal every time. I haven't suffered any blood loss (at least not that I know of) and haven't been treated for folate, iron or B12 deficiency. I also haven't been to high altitudes any time recently.

Do the elevated reticulocytes indicate hemolysis or is there some other possible explanation for episodic reticulocytosis?

You should check for consistency. Its normal to feel great one day and not feel so great the next. Iron deficiency can but solved with vitamin tablets and good foods.
