Epsom salts good?

Are Epsom salt baths any good? If so how much salt do I put in a bath? I'm day 11 post Haemorrhoidectomy and still really struggling. Went back to doctors again today and it's still badly infected so on yet another course of antibiotics. I just want it to go away now as this is getting unbearable now, I really can't see a end to this now sad x

Oh Gemma I really feel for you. I didn’t start to feel better until Day 12, and that was without an infection. It’s a brutal op that’s for sure. I also remembering not being able to see light at the end of the tunnel. But you will hun, honestly. Normal life will resume and hopefully fairly soon. I googled Epsom salts, but think ordinary salt will do the job just as well, I put a teaspoon full in the sitz bath. I’m now three months on and life/work back to normal except it’s still very up and down trying to not get constipated or diarrhoea. Things still feel very different down there, but I’m willing to live with that, I’m certainly NEVER going through that op recovery again!  Hopefully this lot of antibiotics will clear the infection and you will feel better. Do let me know how it goes. It WILL get easier I promise. Xx
