Equipment after THR

Hi All. Failed to ask at pre-op assessment whether I could expect to be given all the necessary appliances and gadgets needed post hip op or whether I have to provide them myself. It was a bit of a rushed process - efficient but rushed- and a toilet raised seat was mentioned but that was all. I'm going to Joint School on Monday (at the Orthopaedic in Oswestry) so guess I'll find out more there but all you old hippies out there'll tell me before then I bet!

    the NHSS supplied all free . Toilet seat ,shower stoll ,high chair to seat on which was easy to get up from . What they couldn,t supply from my good friend Davy who put my socks on .

      I laughed because the one item I had forgotten to mention was for socks. Every time someone asked if I had one, I would say yes and point to my husband. He's getting very good at it. 😊

    Occupational health came to my house pre op and provided me with everything I am in Merseyside, I guess its different in some areas. Sure you will find out before your op and then you can plan.
