There are many answers to your question depending on your personal situation. Best thing is to go and have a chat with your GP. They can go into your history. There are many treatments. For some causes there is no cure but there are many ways of regaining an erection.

I know it's a difficult step talking to someone about this but best to start that conversation as soon as possible.

    All the best

There may be a problem with your blood circulation, so it is a good idea to talk to your doctor.

I assume you are talking about yourself? A heck of a lot more info would be helpful. Your age, for one, would be helpful.

Are you experiencing ED at certain times, or all of the time? Is it when with a partner? If you watch porn do you get an erection? If you masturbate do you get an erection?

The more info you supply the better answers you will get.

An erection is a rather complicated process. It involves your pituitary, heart, blood vessels, nerve endings, and chemicals. And worst of all, your thoughts have a major influence as well. If you worry about losing your erection, you typically lose your erection. As there are many facets to the process, likewise there are many weak links that can disrupt the process entirely. Also likewise, the condition is only curable if the cause has a cure. In most cases, there are band-aids/crutches, but no vaccines, so to speak. You may need to speak with a urologist, nutritionist, or therapist to determine the source of your problem, and from there they can tell you if there is a legitimate solution or not. You can find thousands of medications list erectile dysfunction as a potential side effect. You can also develop it by living a sedentary lifestyle. Remember, erections are essentially just directed blood flow to your penis. If you are not active, you will have less active blood flow. Also, if you are overweight or have poor lung capacity, or both, this also poses a problem. I've heard many articles saying if you want to regain potency (ability to get an erection) you need to quit smoking, lose weight, stay active and eat healthy. Sure, Viagra and the rest can give you an erection tonight, but like I said before, it's not a cure, just a crutch. It's kind of like having lots of caffeine to get you through the day when you didn't get enough sleep. It's fine once in a while, it just won't eliminate the problem that drove you to the meds.
