Erections problems & penis redness

Hello, I am facing two problems, I am 19 did not have sex yet and did not have proper puberty/penis development yet. I have always had strong erections and I needed bare minimum to achieve them. but since 6 months ago I just couldn't have normal erection. Before I always had strong morning erection and now when I have one it is weak. I need to focus hard in order to get erection which is weaker than before. Can I ask, can that be related to maturation? I am becoming desperate and don't know what to do. My penis did not grow yet. Second problem is that few months back I found redness on my penis with some bumps around the tip. They don't hurt or itch, what could that be? Will my erection ever be normal again? I've been diagnosed with little varicocele before. Some photos included, any help will be much appreciated!imageimageimageimage

Okay Michal, as you mentioned masturbation I need to get an idea of how frequently you were masturbating 6 months + ago before this started. So how often per day / week? For what period of time would you be erect? Would you always finish by ejaculating, or did you sometimes / often try to go again and continue your masturbating?

Can I reassure you that your penis does have a typical male adult appearance in terms of size.

Who diagnosed you with little varicocele - was this a doctor or other health specialist?

Also when you say "Second problem is that few months back I found redness on my penis with some bumps around the tip " - yes the redness should not be present, but the bumps are part of the natural make-up of the physical structure of your penile glans / head. In terms of this, because of your age what you may have developing are a variety of potential spots, glands and pearly penile papules (PPP) that are naturally present anyway - it is only when you get to your late 20's in terms of age that you will know what the head of your penis will eventually look like.

The redness often has a simple cause and the chief suspects are things like soap, shower gel and other forms of body wash. As far as possible you need to exclude these from contacting the skin of your inner-foreskin and skin on the head of your penis itself.

The only safe thing to wash penile skin with is water. Typically, what is often the cause is a soap that is scented or has some other chemical component that is irritating your penile skin.

After this you would need to consider whether you apply anything at all for masturbation? Lots of males use things like skin cream / lotion, or baby oil / lotion before starting to masturbate ......

Hello, thanks for replying, about the masturbation. I used to masturbate about 5-6 times per week. Usually about 3 or 4 days in a row then 1 or 2 day break and always masturbated until ejaculating. I consider this being hormonal since I don't feel that much horny anymore. The erection is now like incomplete. The tip of penis (head) is pretty soft. Also the shaft is not fully hard. And it sometimes appears thinner now.

I really needed bare minimum to get hard erection which could last even up to 10 minutes without masturbating or thinking much about it. Now these are all gone and I don’t get these "random erections" anymore, nor I really feel like I felt before.

This can often be a psychological issue, rather than having a physical or simple bio-mechanical cause.

If you can completely focus on whatever major is happening in your life, or engage in recreational or sports or fitness activities this may eventually have a beneficial impact.

You may need to be really patient about this as things like this can take often many months to fully turn around.

Stress can play a leading role in issues like this - so if there are major events either happening to you or other people around you this can be all it takes. Perhaps you have really important exams coming up, that kind of stuff for example ....

So, I think if you took the medical route on trying to sort this a GP / Regular or Family Doctor would say simply rest for as long as you can on this and eventually things will return to normal.

However, when you say " I've been diagnosed with little varicocele " - was this a urologist you saw about this? If so, perhaps it would be worthwhile going back and updating them on what is going on for you now .....

It was urologist and my problem started around my Maturita( it is like the very final exam in my country to finish High school, now I started working on top of that too. I think about this everyday, even if I don't mean to. On top of that I am having cytomegalovirus (CMV) since early September which does not help it much. Thanks for the advice, I am gonna give it around a month of rest. if things don't get better, I will go visit doctor. Thanks in advance

So as I previously have stated:

The redness often has a simple cause and the chief suspects are things like soap, shower gel and other forms of body wash. As far as possible you need to exclude these from contacting the skin of your inner-foreskin and skin on the head of your penis itself.

The only safe thing to wash penile skin with is water. Typically, what is often the cause is a soap that is scented or has some other chemical component that is irritating your penile skin.

      • the key is excluding anything that has a chemical basis
      • give your penis a masturbation holiday for as long as you can
