Erosive OLP for 15 years

I have OLP for 15 years and for the last 7 years it has been erosive. I've had many erosions cut out and yesterday had a lip shave on my lower lip to remove a erosion that had begun to change into something else. I'm worried the 2 erosions in my mouth could also be doing the same but they are in a place that can't be removed. Has anyone else had similar problems please.

I've had erosive for 20 years+ and 2 instances of oral cancer in the last two years. Both caught early and totally removed, which unfortunately has included my whole upper jaw and teeth... I've just had oncological implants [5] into my cheekbones and am waiting now for a denture [fingers crossed]. I suggest you all keep a very close eye on anything erosive, [I use a small mirror & torch] & photograph any changes, insist on a biopsy if in any doubt. I've also had laser treatment on my lip/sulcus for high grade dysplasia.

Thank you for your advice Las Rosas.
I will do. I'm pleased to hear your doing well. Where were your erosions,?

My erosions were mainly on my upper jaw, on my gums, but also behind my back teeth and into my palate. Most recently I had a patch on the inside of my lip along the sulcus ie tissue between gum & lip...I see a maxillofacial oncology consultant every 6 weeks. Prior to the cancer diagnosis I saw the maxillofacial medical team every 3 months for at least the last 5 years. Your dentist should refer you for regular specialist consideration with erosive OLP.
BTW I am teetotal & have never smoked!

Hi Las Rosas
Thank you for your reply.
The erosions I have are along my bottom jaw right at the back behind my back teeth left and right so can't really be cut out now. I foolishly stopped seeing the oral team I was with over a year ago because they said they were going to close my case because in the 5 years I had been seeing them the erosions had remained the same.
I had the one on my lip removed a couple of days ago and I hope they will start to see me again because that one had changed to stage 2.
My throat also feels sore on both sides occasionally but I can't see anything.
Wishing you well and a speedy recovery.
