My husband is my carer i am on a joint claim with him for income related esa in the support group till 2018.

He as been offered a job 16hrs a week working with my brother but the job isnt every week or permanent

I know i would have to tell dwp if he does this job but would it stop my benefits.

My brother said it may only be 2 weeks out the month that hes needed.

Would the esa stop if he did these 2 weeks in the month.

    Hi Dawn,

I'm not able to answer your question I'm afraid, but I'm sure you will get some helpful advice from someone on here very soon.

Hi Dawn, I'm afraid this will stop your ESA on the weeks he works because it's Income Related. You need to make sure you tell the the changes otherwise there'll be an over payment and other things too. He could work more hours and possibly claim tax credits then your ESA can stop completely.
