ESA, post office account and f2f.

Hi all.

I'm currently on iresa and have lately filled in another e50 form so am awaiting the letter telling me when to attend the f2f. This will be 2nd time. First time 2 years ago. For the past 2 years I've had numerous letters telling me to open a bank account(my words) as my money is paid into P. O. Which I've ignored. My question is if I open a bank account and give them my details will that trigger a request from the dwp to apply for U.C? U.C. is I'm told in operation where I live, or should I leave it until after my f2f. The P. O. Keep assuring me the dwp can't make me open a bank account but I'm not so sure.

What do anyone else think on the forum?

Many thanks for any advice.

Ian.

    Hi,

The dwp are telling everyone to open a bank account in preparation for when everyone is migrated over to UC. When this happens depends on the area in which you live as full service is launching at different times.

Opening a bank account won't trigger a migration over to UC, it will just prepare you for when it does.

    Hope that helps
