Hi there. I understand how you've been feeling as most of us experience these kinds of symptoms from anxiety and panic. You're not alone. And with the right medication and lifestyle changes, you'll be feeling better before you know it. I honestly don't know what Elice is. I googled it, and the only thing I could see it was for was head lice! I would guess that's not what you have. Normabel is benzodiazepine. It can be addictive. But it sounds like it was prescribed to you for immediate relief. You should talk to your doctor about medications that will slow or stop your panic altogether. They're called SSRI's.Like Lexapro, Zoloft, etc. Another class of these types of drugs are called SSNI's. They are both effective but have different components to them. Both types take time to work and build up in your brain, generally 4-6 weeks. Sometimes a little longer. These medications do help tremendously. But there is no magic cure.... So you have to be patient to wait for the medication to work. But there are things you can do in the meantime. Many of us here on this site exercise, see a therapist, do yoga or mindful breathing and calming practices, pray. All of things do help, but you need to be proactive to find what works for you.

We all know that panic and anxiety will not kill us, but it's a terrible way to feel and live. The symptoms can be debilitating. BUT DO NOT GIVE UP! You will feel better once you find the right medication and self -care combination. God bless you! You're going to be okay!!! You will!

I completely understand about the sleep issue!!! It's a terrible thing not to sleep, and that's an understatement!!!! Bad sleep patterns effect everything in our bodies! Especially how we think and feel. When your mind can't shut off, especially at bedtime, sleep is next to impossible. Being on the escitalopram for only 5 days isn't enough time to see a true difference. And if your like me, and many of us, anxiety is a side effect of this medicine, but it's temporary!!!! Go figure, a medicine for panic and anxiety that causes anxiety and panic. I didn't realize that when I first started taking it, but I can honestly tell you right now, that my sleep is so much better!!! 6 weeks ago, I was waking up every hour, sleeping for 20 minutes at a time, thinking I slept for hours, but the clock didn't say so. And that, for me, created more anxiety because I was so tired and desperate to sleep. But over the last few weeks, good nights started to out number the bad, and sleep is a relief now. I don't dread my bedroom anymore. So please!!!! Give this medicine time to work. Don't give up hope because it will work for you, I'm confident that it will. PS....I started on 10 mg for 3 weeks then bumped to 20.It's been almost 6 weeks on 20. Many people have tapered UP to higher doses with less side effects. So talk to your doctor and discuss that option. With some patience and time, you'll find the right dosage. Meanwhile, the normabel should help you until then. Don't be afraid to use it as directed. You'll come to see that as the escitalopram starts to work, you won't need it as much. 😊
